Wat Thammikarat is near the royal palace grounds and must have been magnificent. Imagine these tall pillars covered with decorations, supporting a high roof, establishing an appropriate place for prayer and meditation in the presence of great and valuable images. Now a lone monk makes an offering, continuing a tradition which had its brightest moments here more than 300 years ago.
